The parade&#8217;s theme is <em>Salute to the Saints.\u00a0<\/em>Bacchus was formed in 1967 by restaurateur Owen Brennan as the first modern super krewe, because of it&#8217;s size, celebrity kings, and spectacular floats.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.carnivalneworleans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Person-of-Interest.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7075\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.carnivalneworleans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Person-of-Interest-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"person-of-interest\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.carnivalneworleans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Person-of-Interest-683x1024.jpg 683w, http:\/\/blog.carnivalneworleans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Person-of-Interest-200x300.jpg 200w, http:\/\/blog.carnivalneworleans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Person-of-Interest-768x1152.jpg 768w, http:\/\/blog.carnivalneworleans.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Person-of-Interest.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bacchus parades the Sunday before Fat Tuesday.\u00a0The 2009 Krewe included more than 1,350 members, and its parade featured 33 floats including its signature floats: the Bacchasaurus, a giant dinosaur; the Bacchawhoppa, an equally large whale; Bacchagator, an enormous alligator; and Baccatality, a 3-float procession made up of restaurateurs. The Baccamore&#8217;, a love themed float, was introduced in 2008.
